GOLD DOMINIC

Hello my fellow students, I trust you all are doing great and looking forward to the summer.

Some of you may know me personally or have seen me around campus. I am running for the position of International Student Representative (ISR) at Anglia Ruskin University for 2020/21 academic school year.

I am a lovely, lively hardworking determined young lady who cares about the issues that affect YOU my fellow international students. Together, we can work to improve our collective experience as students.

Currently a student ambassador for the university and International student rep 2019/2020. I and my colleagues have done so many things to recognise both home and international students, these included  drop in sections to discuss pressing issues, Christmas party 2019 for people who had nowhere and no one to spend that special day with which, all these activities were fulfilling and I want to continue to do these good acts as long as I remain a student here at ARU. I did it last year and I will be doing even more. But one of the key things is that I shall focus on your rights as students.

I am highly skilled and innovative. These qualities I want to put at your disposal.

If I am Re-elected in as your international student rep 2020/2021, there are numbers of things I will bring to your doorstep. As I believe there are still more to be done to help shape up the international students and what they represent above all I want to put smiles on the faces of all international students and make them feel at ease here in the UK and at Anglia Ruskin University.

I am very aware that settling in as an international student isn’t easy, it’s daunting. There are a lot of the challenges individuals face migrating from their home county or country of abode to integrate into a new country/society and finding new friends, knowing about job and skills workshops are one of the issues that international students finds difficult. That is why I want to step in and make it my priority to make your student life easy, enjoyable and above all to make your voice to be heard. I believe that a lot more can be done to improve the support available for international students

As a representative for the international students I will organise activities within and outside the university area, and to make your voice heard. You will always see me around on campus with my colourful fashion statements which include my hair do and outfits, above all you will smell my personality from far away. I will be at your beck and call for current and new international students to have a one on one conversation to give and help get information and advice on lots of things which includes: setting up bank accounts, phone contracts, getting a place to live, budgeting and above all and adjusting to British culture and weather. If I am elected, do feel free to evaluate my work as your representative and suggest how I can be more effective. If you have any questions, please email me at gold.dominic@student.anglia.ac.uk.
