Anglia Ruskin Raiders Cheerleading is the Cambridge campus' back to back national champion cheerleading team!
Our level 2 competitive team takes part in three competitions around the country against other university teams. We are super proud of the titles that we have worked extremely hard to achieve, which most recently includes achieving 2nd place at 2023 ICC, 1st place national champions at the 2020 Legacy University Nationals as well as 1st place three years in a row in 2019, 2018 and 2017 at the ICC university nationals and 1st place at the 2016 Future cheer university nationals!
NEW to this year our previous non-competitive level 1 team will be competing this year!! Our level 1 team will be competing at Legacy Alpha & Omega in March!! We are so excited to offer this new opportunity!
In 2021 we returned with a brand new Cheer team after COVID and smashed it at Comp while creating a Raiders family.
We are coached by current ARU student Becca Howard, who has been coaching cheer since she was 14!! We are so excited to welcome her to the Raiders family this year.
We also train once a week at a spring floor local gym facility!
The past few years have been testimony of our hard work and dedication. Intense training and wild nights out are evidence to our team ethos "cheer hard - play hard!"

The Raider’s team is not all hard work and no play; our Social Captains host regular social events both day and night where we meet for an event to help us bond as a family more. We collaborate with all the raider teams together (competitive, stunt, social, and dance) and we also collaborate with the other teams in the university too!
We also have a chance at the end of the University year to compete against other universities in the challenge cup!
Ruskin Raiders also support charity fundraising around the University with cake sales and other events. Come along to a taster session to find out more or look out for tryout dates that will be hosted in September!
