Inclusivity

Inclusivity at Anglia Ruskin Students’ Union

Here at Anglia Ruskin Students’ Union being Inclusive is one of our core values and we pride ourselves on working towards an inclusive environment. This is why we have created the Inclusivity Fund. The funds’ aim is to remove barriers to participation and engagement with Students’ Union activity for any students who may incur extra costs in order to take part.

This may include, for example, students with caring responsibilities who need to employ a registered carer to cover their responsibilities or students who require a facilitator or support worker to enable them to attend our events and activities.

We believe that all students have a different experience, and we want to ensure you get the best experience you possibly can in your unique position as a student at Anglia Ruskin.

‘An inclusive environment is one that can be used by everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or disability. It has many elements such as societal and individual attitudes, the design of products and communications and the design of the building itself. It recognises and allows for differences in the way that people use the built environment and gives all of us the chance to join in mainstream activities equally and independently, with choice and dignity.’

Disability Rights Commission, 2005
