Connectors Enterprise
The Connectors Enterprise Society exists to help ARU students bridge the gap between learning and real-world doing.
Employers increasingly ask for demonstrable ability, not just grades. Many students graduate without practical experience or a way to show what they can contribute. At the same time, organisations struggle to access emerging student talent in a simple, low-risk way. Connectors is working to close this gap.
This is an early-stage, student-driven initiative. We are not a platform. We are building the process together from the ground up, guided by the students and organisations who choose to participate. The aim is to understand how talent and opportunity can connect more effectively — fairly, transparently, and with shared benefit.
What We Do
Connectors is currently developing a model to help students explore real-world tasks and opportunities through collaborative experimentation.
We are:
• Bringing together a cross-disciplinary student community
• Engaging with over 50 companies interested in working with ARU talent
• Running conversations, workshops, and small experiments to learn what works
• Helping students learn from early tasks, reflections, and peer support
Rather than launching with fixed assumptions, we are learning directly from students and employers as we go. The solutions we build will come from this shared experience.
Who It’s For
Connectors is open to all ARU students — all courses, all year groups, no experience required.
If you are interested in gaining experience, building capability, understanding modern work expectations, or contributing to a new community from the beginning, this is for you.
Curiosity, openness, and willingness to participate matter more than expertise.
Why It Matters
The traditional pathway from university into meaningful work is breaking down. At the same time, organisations increasingly look for proof of capability. Too often, talented students are overlooked simply because they lack access or confidence.
Connectors is exploring a new approach. We believe students and organisations should be able to work together earlier, informally, and with less friction. By experimenting with small tasks, conversations, and collaborations, we aim to discover how these relationships can form in a way that benefits everyone.
Community and Culture
Connectors is not a passive society. It is an active learning community built around curiosity and experimentation.
Students help shape:
• What opportunities look like
• How students and organisations collaborate
• How skills and learning are recognised
• What tools or systems we may eventually need
Our principles:
Start small.
Learn by doing.
Share openly.
Support each other.
We do not have all the answers. We are here to find them together.
Events
We host sessions to:
• Meet engaged companies
• Discuss the future of work
• Explore emerging tools and methods
• Test small collaboration activities
• Gather student insight to shape the next steps
These events help us understand what students want, what employers need, and how talent can be connected meaningfully.
