ARU For Global Health
ARU for Global Health aims to empower students to engage with key issues in global and public health, with a particular focus on health equity, access to medicines, and the role of biomedical research in advancing sustainable and just healthcare systems worldwide. The society's objectives include: Raising Awareness; Promoting Health Equity; Promoting Interdisciplinarity; Supporting Student Activism and Empowering Future Leaders.
We are planning to organize:
Weeky society meetings with various themes (i.e. women's health, vaccines, neglected diseases)
Monthly presentation to the wider university public
Movie sessions (i.e. Fire in the Blood).
Fortnightly newsletter/ student article relating the lattest scientific inovations
Montly craftivism session ( creative activism), where we work on an artistic diy exhibition with a meaningful
message behind
We would collaborate with other civic societies and student groups( e.g. UAEM chapters, Public Health movement) and attend webinars/ conferences that they provide, as well as support their campaigns and initiatives. As the society grows, we could also organize our own conference to wrap up our achievements and present our research findings/ action proposals to other students, academics and researchers.
There is always an open door to social gatherings/ events unrelated to our mission, where we can hang out together, know each other better and have fun together.
