We are looking for volunteers to help us with various roles at our Cycle for Life event on Sunday 7th September 2025. Roles include marshaling along the route, helping at the information hub and assisting participants.
This popular event appeals to cyclists of all ages and abilities from beginners and families to experienced cyclists looking for a challenge. There are three routes, 20km, 50km and 100km with the cycle starting and finishing at Farleigh Hospice based near Broomfield Hospital. The cyclists are staggered, starting with the 100km distance which leaves the Hospice at 9am. Cyclists should all have returned to the hospice by early afternoon.
If you Marshall along the route you will be in pairs and will be stood down when the last cyclist has gone past you. You will receive briefing papers a hi-vis jacket and snacks. Please note there will be areas along the route which do not have toilet facilites. Do let us know when you apply if these are areas you do not wish to Marshall.
There will also be opportunities to be based at the Hospice in Broomfield, welcoming cyclists and helping to distribute t shirts and refreshments. You can get to the Hospice by bus, however you will need a car to take you to your position if you are Marshalling on the route.
