Welcome to the Creative Minds Project!

What is the Creative Minds Project?

The Creative Minds Project is a new arts council supported scheme that is being piloted by Anglia Ruskin Students' Union and Anglia Ruskin University. Creative Minds is dedicated to helping creative students find opportunities in their desired creative industries, network with potential employers and showcase their creative talents through a dedicated online platform. There are no limits to who can get involved, the Creative Minds project is open to any ARU student who wants to further their creative abilities and interests.

How can Creative Minds help me?

There are several ways that the Creative Minds project can help ARU students, alumni and staff. In short, you can use our online platform to set up a creative profile, this helps you to collaborate on creative projects and in time your profile could turn into your own start-up! You could attend one of our networking events or career talks to meet potential employers and find out more about working in creative industries. If you are looking for experience in a specific creative industry, you can sign up to one of our volunteering opportunities and spend some time gaining experience in a creative environment.

ONLINE PLATFORM  - Creative Minds offers you a free online platform where you can register a creative start-up, either on your own or with others. The online platform gives you the chance to set up a creative focused profile that you can use to showcase your portfolio and collaborate with other creative student start-ups. So if your start-up is dedicated to producing films, you could use the Creative Minds website to find another creative start-up who could do the lighting or the music. Even better, your start-up can be supported by your fellow students visiting the website, so the more supporters your start-ups profile has, the more likely you are to be sent opportunities to collaborate. To create a profile, fill out the registration here.

OPPORTUNITIES - The Creative Minds project is also focused on helping students interested in creative industries boost their employability. Creative Minds will offer creative students the chance to gain experience of specific creative industries by creating and advertising opportunities to volunteer in creative industries. Students can gain experience and skills and they are able to log this time and their skills using the Skills Record at www.angliastudent.com/volunteering. To have a look at the creative opportunities available, you can visit our Opportunities page here.

EVENTS - Creative Minds also offers creative students the chance to attend events and talks focused on creative industries and collaboration. These events are open to all and their purpose is to help you learn more about the creative opportunities available to you both on and off campus. As well as employability focused events, there will also be networking and collaboration events that help you to meet potential employers and fellow creative individuals. Alternatively, if you are a creative individual who wants to hold an event on campus as part of the Creative Minds project, you can get in touch with us here to discuss your ideas! To find out more about what's on, have a look here or at our calendar!
