Emily Long is a third year Marine Biology with Biodiversity and Conservation student and President of the Music and Performing Arts Society.

Through her role Emily has pushed for increased collaboration between different societies and organised the ARU Showcase event, where students from different societies came together to showcase their different talents. Not only did she help organise the event she also helped timetable different acts and worked on the door during the night.

Meg De Pasquale-Crighton, Course Based Society Coordinator in Cambridge comments:

“Emily is always willing to help others, focuses on organising collaborative events between societies and encourages students to work together. She prioritises her voluntary duties almost as highly as her studies and feels a great sense of joy when her plans of collaboration and working together become a reality.”

Emily is also a well-respected and dedicated member of student staff for the Union and is looking to utilise her organisational skills to set up the new ‘Pebble Project’, an upcoming new volunteer project.

Thanks Emily for embodying the ethos and vision of the Union by enabling students to ‘Create Success Together’.
