My name is Matt and I am the Vice President for Science and Engineering.

The ‘Access Denied’ campaign looks at access to specialist resources outside of conventional working hours for FSE students. Some students have to work full time jobs or care for family during the week so are unable to use the fantastic facilities we provide. For these people, these buildings being open at the weekends would allow them to complete coursework at times that suited them. All students deserve to succeed, not just the ones with no other responsibilities.

CAMPAIGN AIMS:

  • 24/7 access to Compass House

Updates:

  • FSE and AHSS (Faculty Partnership Team) members approved the 24/7 trial for November/December.
  • After evaluating the data, we came to an agreement with the university that the building will be open 24 hours a day Monday_Friday and 07:00-18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
