Hello again! Sophie-May here. I am back at university for my second year and feeling ready for the new challenges and opportunities. I have decided that I will no longer be writing for the student newspaper this year. I really enjoyed working with the whole team last year and will always be grateful for the experience.

Click here to have a look at last year's adventures.

I met some incredible people through my stories (Lola is now one of my best friends and Father McKenzie is a real inspiration) and I’m sad that I won’t get to carry on meeting so many characters. I had to give up the reporting role to make extra time for my studies and a part time job I started over the summer. However, I’m still going to be writing and sharing with you. I’ve decided to try my hand at poetry for a while… let’s see how that goes!

You will be able to read my poems at angliastudent.com or you can find The Adventures of Sophie May on facebook, on twitter @AdventuresSMay or on sophiemay.jux.com but you can read my first one right here, right now. It's the result of struggling with debt and how skint I am as a student! It's called 'Help!'

Help!

Help! I need some money!
Help! I'll take anybody's!
Help! You know I need some dough!
Help!

When I was younger, so much younger than today
I used to spend parents' wages on the day they got paid
But now those days are gone I'm not financially secure
And now I've found I've got no food, my bread is growing mould

Help me if you can, give me a pound
And I would appreciate a whip around
The only coat I have is one I found
Won't you please, please help me

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways
And I'm loving my university days
But every single day I feel so broke and poor
I've just got home and found the bailiffs at my door

Help me if you can, give me a pound
And I would appreciate a whip around
The only coat I have is one I found
Won't you please, please help me
