Online Calm Space with CPSL Mind every Tuesday.
These sessions run weekly, each week you will have the chance to chat with others and share your experiences, however, this is a safe space, and you can choose whether to join in with discussions and reflections. This is a judgment-free space where everyone is welcome, and we have no problems with cameras being turned off. Simply join us and create some calm and quiet in your day.

Tuesday 23 January 2 - 3pm Visualise your calm space
Using the power of your imagination you will be guided through a visualisation exercise to create your personal calm space in your mind. This is a stress-reduction technique that can be used whenever you’d like to self-soothe and relax. This space will always be available to you whenever you need it and wherever you are.
Tuesday 30 January 2 - 3pm Reframing negative thoughts
In this session, we mark ‘Time to Talk’ day on February 2 February, by guiding you through visualisation for defusing negative thoughts, the “Mindbus technique”. It can help you see your thoughts for what they are - just thoughts and help you navigate the ones that aren’t useful to you.
Tuesday 6 February 2 - 3pm Cultivating Gratitude
Practising gratitude is something we can all benefit from. It’s about experiencing that feeling of appreciation for things big or small. In this session, you will begin to cultivate gratitude through meditation and will spend time focusing on the things and people you are grateful for.
Tuesday 13 February 2 - 3pm Self-compassion
Do you treat yourself with the same compassion as others? Do you know how to treat yourself with kindness? In this session, you will be guided through a range of reflective meditation exercises, which focus on befriending yourself and treating yourself with more compassion and kindness.
Tuesday 20 February 2 - 3pm 5 senses grounding exercise to manage anxiety
We spend so much time inside our heads, thinking, analysing and problem-solving which can cause us a lot of anxiety. By taking a moment to reconnect with each of your 5 senses, you can find some calm and turn your attention to the present moment. In this session, you will be guided through the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique and sensory exercises.
Tuesday 27 February 2 - 3pm Managing stress
Let’s join in the national conversation about managing stress. This session is a chance to stop and reconnect with your whole body and release any built-up stress. You will be guided through a range of meditation exercises which focus on manging stress.
Tuesday 05 March 2 - 3pm Relaxation for improving procrastination
Procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last minute. Although common and normal, mindfulness and relaxation can help you to overcome procrastination and increase motivation to deal with your to-do list. In this session you will be guided through a range of meditation exercises which focus on improving procrastination.

As we prepare for University Mental Health Day this week, take a break from the challenges of your day with this meditation practice. In this session, you will be guided through a series of meditation exercises which focus on boosting your energy and calm the mind. As the 15 March sees World Sleep Day these exercises can assist you with your sleep, an important component of our wellbeing.
