Volunteering in the Education Centre covers handling animals with pupils of all ages and the general public (training is provided).

More Information

Placements are either a 4-week block or one-day-a-week for 20 weeks. Volunteering in the Education Centre covers handling animals with pupils of all ages and the general public (training is provided). Sessions are conducted on site and as an outreach service which could involve carrying animal crates and travelling as assistant to the education officer to schools, community groups, etc. Good people skills, common sense, and empathy are essential when dealing with animals and people. Volunteers need to be versatile, hard working and of a friendly disposition. Other duties include feeding/cleaning animals in the education centre, maintenance and cleanliness of the education unit, and clear understanding of wildlife park protocol.
