Social Media Manager(s)

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Can you help spread the message about the harmful effects of inequality in Cambridge? We are looking for someone who is able to use different social media platforms to disseminate messages about how inequality damages everyone in society, targeted at the general public and decision-makers to achieve maximum impact and reach.

The Cambridge Commons (www.thecambridgecommons.org) has been working with students at the University of Cambridge (Cambridge Hub Social Impact Programme) to develop a comprehensive social media strategy.  This includes visuals and text to communicate how inequaliy affects Cambridge, the most unequal society in the UK, and identifies influencers and social media techniques to maximise reach.  We are now looking for someone with an understanding of different social media platforms and how each can be used to best effect to help implement the strategy and develop it as necessary.  The Cambridge Commons already has a Facebook Group and aTwitter account and we are looking to grow the number of members and followers as well as starting an Instagram account and exploring other platforms.

We also have a website and a monthly email newsletter and would welcome support in these areas too particularly in terms of ensuring regular updates and aligning both with social media content.

We would be happy to work with more than one volunteer and all volunteers will be guided and supervised by members of The Cambridge Commons Steering Committee.
