Start a new Society 

If you are interested in setting up a new society please complete this form and a member of the Activites department will get back to you shortly.

 

First Steps

  • Check the society you wish to start doesn't already exist, here.
     
  • Then check or submit an idea to get other students interested in your new  Society, here.
     
  • Gather three Committee Members - one President, one Treasurer and one Administrator. These are the basic roles that every  society needs to function, if you wish to add more go ahead and create your own roles. We don't recommend having more than six Committee Members.
     
  • Create a clear aim for your society. Where do you see it going? What is its purpose?  What are your objectives? 
     
  • Remember Clubs and Societies must abide by the Union’s current Equal Opportunities Policy and are subject to the provisions of the Constitution, Regulations and Policy of ARU Students’ Union.
