Your Vice President of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care - Fraser Luther-Yarwood - pushed for more sustainability within the union and the university last year. Here's what he has been up to, and what he's going to do from now.
What do you study?
I am currently studying MA Education Studies which followed 3 years of BA Education Studies
What made you stand to be an Officer?
In my time at ARU I very quickly became involved with the faculty and the union my motive being that I liked being able to make a difference and do some good around the campus. This role gives me an even wider opportunity to help and give back to the students whilst being able to develop myself as a person for the future.
Share your three favourite tunes
Shut up and dance with me - Walk the moon
Love is easy - McFly
Can't stop the feeling - Justin Timberlake
What are your priorities for this year?
Make the students a lot more aware of the union and what it has to offer in terms of support, volunteering, opportunties etc.
Enquire about improving the quality and opportunties for placements to better suit the students
Improve communication between different areas within the university
Tell us something not many people know about you.
What most people don't know about me is that I have a collection of 136 ties in my wardrobe
What's your ultimate ARU moment?
My ultimate ARU moment would probably be when I won the education impact award 2017 at the SU awards for my work as a course rep, involvement with the faculty and for my 'Against cuts to Education' policy
If you had a super power what would it be?
If I had a super power it would probably be the ability to fly as I am already wizzing around the university trying to help people
