BME: Awareness and Inclusion

Transforming students’ ideas into positive change

BME: Awareness and Inclusion

A campaign led by Blessing Raimi, BME Rep for Cambridge

I want to raise more awareness of BME student life and provide a safe, inclusive space for black and minority ethnic students to share their views, creating a forum for open discussion.

Campaign Aims:

  • To determine what is going well with the BME student experience and to determine what needs to be improved.
  • To evaluate academic and extra-curricular aspects of student life and BME representation.
  • To raise more awareness of BME student life to the wider student body.
  • To run forums to create a relaxed environment for BME students.

UPDATE: The first BME forum was held on Friday 9th February from 3-5 pm.  See the event page here. If you missed this event, you can still send any feedback to me using my email below!

In collaboration with Eliza Torres and her 3V's (Voice, Visibility, and Validation) campaign, I will be taking pictures of BME students for a diversity collage - if you would like to get involved, please send me an email using the link below.

GLOBAL WEEK UPDATE: I will be running a Global Speed Friending event for students during Global Week, with the opportunity to win prizes and eat some global snacks! Make a new friend: check it out here.

Any comments or feedback about my BME campaign? Please email blessing.raimi@student.anglia.ac.uk.
