The 2018 theme for DHM is Disability and Music

“UKDHM 2018 will focus on Disability and Music. We want to explore the links between the experiences of disablement in a world where the barriers people with impairments face can be overwhelming. Yet the creative impulse and urge for self-expression and the need to connect to our fellow human beings often ‘trumps’ the oppression we as disabled people have faced, do face and will face in the future.” – UKDHM (

Disability History Month: Disabled Students Forum Cambridge

Thu 06 December 2018 13:00-15:00 - Students' Union, Peter Taylor House

Join the officers and reps as we talk about being a disabled student at ARU Cambridge. Whether you've had the easiest time or had a really challenging experience - we want to hear from you so that we can make things better. Mental health issues count as disabilities - so please feel free to come and chat about those things as well. 


Disability History Month: Panel Event "What does it mean to be a disabled student in the 21st century?" Chelmsford.

Join us and our guests for a panel where we talk about what it really means to be disabled. Joining us we have Rachel O'Brien who is the NUS Disabled Students Officer, Julie Teatheredge who is an ARU academic with a background in mental health nursing and psychoanalysis, and Angela Sizer the ARU Disabled Students Rep.
