Raising money for Movember and attempting to grow moustaches is an annual occasion for the Anglia Ruskin University Men’s Rugby Team. Movember is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health. The charity started in 2003 and is aiming to address some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

This year has been a special year for the Rugby team however. They have raised the most amount of money they have ever raised for Movember, smashing any previous efforts and setting a new high benchmark. That benchmark is £520, with the team finishing with a national team ranking of just below 1000 that out of around 4000 teams is a extremely good effort! The boys have been collecting around the university campus, as well as all donating themselves towards this fantastic cause. Family and friends have been in on the act also donating towards the team’s efforts,

The only question now is, can they beat this new record next year? It will have to be a monumental effort if so, but I don’t put it past us…
