'High Tech' student led sitcom - Opportunities to get involved!

This is an open call to all students and staff who want to get involved in this new student led sitcom project.

High Tech

High Tech is a unique comedy which revolves around a group of three media technicians working at Anglia Ruskin University. It gives a glimpse into the problems that these individuals come across, featuring students and lectures from the university who are looking for an 'all knowing' answer to their issues. It is hard not to laugh when the solution is to press the 'ON' button!
 
High Tech is the idea of two Film & TV Production students, Abigail Crowther and Marta Boska and the Students' Union wants to support their effort to create a student led sitcom which will become part of ARU students life. The Students' Union will help co-ordinate and promote 'High Tech' and we will also host the sitcom on the Students' Union website. Abigail and Marta are currently looking for students and staff members who want to get ivolved in order to put together the 'High Tech' team.

Main characters and extras

The main characters on 'High Tech' are the three male media technicians Gary, Adrian and Jed. They are all around their twenties and each one of them has a unique colourful or not so colourful personality. Any students and staff members who are around their twenties, early thirties are welcome to come along to our casting sessions. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is required.
 
There will also be a lot of other supporting and extras roles which will suit any sex and age group so please if you feel like you want to be part of this just come to one of our casting sessions and give it a try!
 
We will hold two casting sessions for students and members of staff who would like to audition for the main, supporting characters or participate as extras. No previous experience is required and anyone is welcome to come.

Friday 23rd November: 4:30pm - 6:30pm, RUS 202 (Ruskin balcony)
 
Wedsnesday 28th November 1pm - 4pm, RUS 202 (Ruskin balcony)

Sound Designer

We are looking for a student who wishes to compose and arrange the musical theme of  'High Tech' and to help us develop the sound indentity of the sitcom.

You will work together with the High Tech team and you will get help and support, if you need it, from the Students' Union Marekting & Communication team. This could be a great opportunity for you to work on a collaborative student led project and develop your portfolio.

Stylist

We are looking for a Fashion Design student who wants to become a member of the 'High Tech' team and work on the look and styling of  the main charachters and the extras. This could be a great opportunity for you to reasearch and develop the look and indentity of our characters as well as the aesthetics of the show. You will work as a member of the 'High Tech' team and you will get help and support along the way if you need it.

Set Dresser

We are looking for a student to work with us as a Set Dresser. You will arrange the objects on our set before filming, place furniture, hang pictures and put out decorative items. You will work togehter with the 'High Tech' team, the director and the stylist of the show to develop and agree on the aesthetic direction you want to follow. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working on a set and to collaborate with a group of creative students on such a challenging project.

Title Designer

We are looking for a Graphic Design or Animation student to design and develop this essential part of the 'High Tech' sitcom which will be the titles. You will have the opportunity to work together the 'High Tech' team in order to come up with the titles concept and aesthetics which we hope it will reflect and influence the whole character of the show. You will get help and support from the Students' Union Marketing & Communications team if you need it. This is also a great opportunity to develop your portfolio.
