Students’ Union Coordinator

35 hours per week (flexibility required)

£27,270 including location allowance

Based at ARU London, Farringdon campus

Our Students’ Union Coordinators are the first point of contact for all students and visitors to the Students’ Union. Playing a vital role in our team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the student experience, every day here in Farringdon.

Working alongside the Students’ Union Coordinator from the East India campus, you’ll be supporting students to set up and deliver a range of student-led activities. You will also contribute to the planning and delivery of large-scale events on campus.

In addition, our Students’ Union Coordinators also work closely with our elected Officers, supporting them in their campaign priorities and actively engaging our students in the democratic functions of the Union.

What you will be doing

  • You will be the Union’s first point of contact for ARU London students, providing a friendly, effective and efficient service and ensuring all interactions provide the highest levels of customer service possible
  • Administering and supporting the organisation of the elections processes for all representative positions as required on the ARU London campuses
  • Advising the Students’ Union on relevant trends and areas of activity within your area of responsibility, to support the production of an annual Students’ Union impact report
  • Providing comprehensive support to the Vice President (ARU London) to plan individual and organisation-wide campaigning priorities, through the development of project plans
  • Creating and supporting sustainable, targeted student-led groups on the ARU London Campuses; based on student feedback
  • Actively contributing to the organisation and delivery of large scale events on the London Campuses, such as Welcome Week

What we’re looking for

  • Knowledge of issues affecting students in higher education
  • Interest in delivering training workshops in relevant skills
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse range of personnel

?Where will you be working

This role is cross-campus; you will be based at the Farringdon campus, but will also work one day per week at the East India campus. Our staff can also choose to work remotely for part of their working week.

 About Anglia Ruskin Students’ Union (ARUSU)

ARUSU represents approximately 25,000 students at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) across campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough and London. In addition, we provide a range of services; academic and welfare advice, support to students running societies and volunteering opportunities in and around the campuses. Whilst we play an important student representative role that sometimes sees us challenge the University, we work closely with them and support areas of delivery within their strategy.
