ARUWS Wildlife Photographer Competition

Think you've got an eye for photography? Or maybe you've taken a brilliant photo of an animal? Whatever your reason, come take part in the ARU Widlife Society Photography Competition and you may win a prize!

ARUWS Wildlife Photographer Competition

Categories:

1. Mammal

2.  Invertebrate

3. Bird

4. Herptiles (amphibians + reptiles)

5. Botany

6. Fish

7. Campus Wildlife

8. Misc. – this category contains anything that does not fit the above, e.g. landscapes, dead animals

 

Prizes:

Winners will have their photograph printed in A3/4 as well as a paperweight and put on display in the David building, when the display is over, they will be given their print. Runners up will receive a paperweight containing their photograph and will be published on FB and in the Newsletter.

 

Submission:

Photographs to be emailed to ARUWS@hotmail.co.uk. Please include your university email and SID.

2 picture per person per category is allowed. Consideration to the quality of the picture will be asked.

Submissions close at 7pm on Friday 11th March. Judging will take place anonymously by Alvin Helden, Sarah Haider (Experience Officer) and an additional judge (Watch this space!)

Results will be announced on Monday 14th March, via email and our social media accounts.

 

Rules:

Competition open to paid members only (see the Wildlife home page for information on how to become a paid member)

Photographs of pets are not allowed in this competition – photographs must be of wildlife, not captive or domestic animals.

No more than two submissions per category per person please.

No photographs to be shared on the society Facebook page or other social media in the interest of fairness.

Campus Wildlife’ is to include the Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses only, halls/residencies are not valid. When submitting to this category please be as specific as possible about where the photo was taken.

Any pictures of potentially distressing nature (i.e. dead animals) are to be entered into the ‘Misc.’ category.

By entering the competition you agree that your photographs may be used in promotional materials for the society (credit will be given).

Anybody found breaching these rules will have their entries removed. All decisions are final.
