Women in Surgery Conference 2020, in collaboration with ARMS

We are pleased to announce our 3rd Women in Surgery event, on the 7th of November! ARU Women in Surgery Online Conference, an event in collaboration with the Anglia Ruskin Medical Students (ARMS) Society, free for everyone.

The Women in Surgery Panel Discussion, that took place at Anglia Ruskin University in the last academic year, was hugely successful. Following this success, we decided to host a Virtual Conference where attendees can hear from female surgeons and surgical trainees, in order to debunk any myths about becoming a female surgeon, expose medical students to the challenges that female surgeons face during their careers and, most importantly, to highlight that gender shouldn’t be an obstacle for female students wanting to enter specialities that are traditionally male-dominant.

We will have an amazing and inspiring panel of female surgeons speak on themes which they are passionate about and discuss issues on:

  1. Surgical Career & Gender Inequality
  2. Life outside surgery: Work & Life Balance
  3. Social Media & Surgery
  4. Mental Health & Personal Challenges
  5. Mentoring in the Surgical Career & Surgical Education

Book your space to receive a zoom link to the conference and further information closer to the date! Don’t forget to check our Social Media for updates on the timetable, opportunities for attendees and to get to know the speakers!

Certificates will be sent to attendees who complete a survey after the session.

Prize draw details to be announced on our social media!
