ALEX'S FOUR-STEP MANIFESTO

A little bit about me

My name is Alex Mead, and I am currently in my second year at Anglia Ruskin University studying the Public Service degree. I was successfully elected as Course Rep for the second year of my course, and was also the winning nominee for the Rep of the Month for January 2018 in Cambridge.

Why I am standing for ALSS Faculty Rep?

The main reason I am standing for the ALSS Faculty Rep position is because I am very passionate about representing students, and speaking on the behalf of students, and acting in their best interests. My role as Course Rep has provided me with invaluable experience and skills. Though I believe that the role of Faculty Rep is a challenging position, the experience and skills that I have developed as a Course Rep shall allow me to succeed in the role. More importantly, I believe that being a Faculty Rep is something that shall allow me to represent you on a much higher scale, and influence decision-making so that your student experience is comfortable, enjoyable, and successful. It would mean an awful lot to me to be your ALSS Faculty Rep as my strong relationship with the university and the Students' Union shall mean that I can represent you, stand up for you, and, most imperatively, instigate change to improve your life as students across the faculty and Anglia Ruskin University.

Alex's 4-step method

  • Organising faculty-related trips, such as trips to parliament, courts, governmental organisations, museums, and landmarks.

  • Arranging social events on campus where all students from the faculty can socialise and meet mew people.

  • Setting up a meeting once a month where all students from the faculty can report feedback about faculty-related matters to the Faculty Rep who shall then report the feedback to the Vice President of the faculty.

  • Branching out the BooksPlus scheme across more university facilities, such as cafes, canteens, food and drink machines, and printers.
