My name is Joel Tyson and I am a second year law student. Being a student isn’t always easy and everyone deserves a voice to make sure they have the most supportive and enjoyable experience they can from their time at university, especially when considering the cost. Therefore my main goals will be to help you, my fellow students, express your concerns and desires in one of three ways:
-
Diversity
I will try to ensure that everyone has equal opportunity to participate in education here to its fullest extent. I will work with other representatives towards achieving this goal. One example of this may be by providing a crèche allowing parents to study for longer and offer volunteering/jobs to facilitate this.
-
Facilities.
Anglia Ruskin provides some incredible facilities such as its employment bureau and a 24 hour library. I will try to ensure that necessary facilities will be provided to everyone in order to get the most of their education. One example may be an enquiry into the possibility of student parking.
-
Communication
I pride myself on very strong communication skills and I will voice any concerns or opinions put forward to me by fellow students. In the past I have been described as ‘intimidating’ or ‘unapproachable’ and I will make a strong effort to be approachable with any issue you may have. I guarantee any concerns expressed to me will be heard by the appropriate officer.
Thank you for reading the entirety of this manifesto and I would greatly appreciate your votes.
