WHO AM I?

My name is Shannon Crowley, I am a first-year Accounting & Finance student.

I am running for the position of Vice President for Business, in a slate- Three For All, with Onella Khan (Vice President of Health, Social Care, Education and Medical Science) and Fraser Luther-Yarwood (President)

Since joining the University in September 2016, I immediately became very heavily involved with the SU. This was through my following roles:
- President of Cakes and Bakes Society
- Treasurer of MMA Fitness and Self-Defense Society
- Treasurer of LGBTQ+ Society Chelmsford
- Secretary of Ruskin RAG
- Social Media and Marketing Manager of Tea and Hot Chocolate Society

My work in these roles led me to achieve Committee Member of the Month for December 2016, as well as my Gold Volunteering Award.

MY PLEDGE TO YOU

If I become Vice President for Business, I pledge to you- the Student Body, that I will strive to do the following:

  • To promote inclusivity and equality throughout the university and within the faculty
  • To promote and improve opportunities and resources provided in my faculty

WHAT HAVE I DONE SO FAR?

  • Helped raise awareness and £200 for Sanctus Homeless Charity
  • Supported the Lets Be Honest Campaign and actively raised awareness for Mental Health
  • Volunteered at SU events such as Festivol during Student Volunteering Week
  • Held Society Events, such as Bake Sales to raise money for various charities and promote the SU
  • Actively promoted equality for all, particularly focusing on LGBT Rights and Mental Health

WHY SHOULD YOU VOTE FOR ME?

I believe I deserve your vote because I am committed to improving the opportunities provided by the SU, particularly in association with the Business Faculty. I will be working towards ensuring that students gain the most from their time at University, without fear of discrimination or exclusion. Everything I do in my role will be done whilst ensuring there is equal opportunities for all.
