Allow me to introduce myself and tell you my story. My name is Jack Fairhurst and I started university here at Anglia Ruskin in September 2016, studying a 3-year BA (Hons) Marketing course. Initially, I went into university with the focus on doing well academically and prioritised getting coursework and assignments done; which is important to us all, but soon realised there was so many opportunities I was missing out on due to not having the confidence to take these opportunities.
In my second year, I ensured I developed my prospects after university to go into the workplace fully confident in my abilities to nail future job interviews, and this is what I want YOU to feel as well. Therefore, being a founding member and Administrator (2018-2019) of the Marketing Society, and studying Marketing, I am passionate about continuing the Society’s commitment to providing business opportunities to students to support your futures and ensure a sustainable future for the Marketing Society at Anglia Ruskin University.
Other objectives I have for this position include: sustaining the quality of teaching through enthusiastic and engaging tutors, allowing suitable timings for lectures and seminars to cover taught material, ensuring sufficient assessment support is provided and published in a timely manner, providing good transparent communication always, and ensure an open environment to discuss any concerns YOU have around the university. However, if you elect me as the Vice President (Business & Law), I would be guided by YOU to provide a personalised service.
In addition to society roles, I was the Year 3 BA (Hons) Marketing Course Representative from 2018-19 and ultimately wish to continue showing my organisational and communication skills and keen eye for detail through committing myself to YOU as the Vice President (Business & Law).
