Dream, believe, achieve!

About me:

I am 2nd year Business Management student. At current, I have an experience of being an course rep, intern and a member of Faculty Student Advisory board, at ARU. I am running for Business and Law Faculty Rep for the 2019/20 academic year. I am an extrovert, and not afraid of speaking up, making me the ideal candidate for the faculty rep. I am passionate about our student voice being heard and making positive impactful changes to enhance student experience.

Experience and Current Achievements:

  • Frequently attending and contributing to course rep and faculty strategic planning conferences.

  • One of my top and successful priority being a Student Advisory member was working with Faculty of Business and Law towards taking better Module Improvement- feedback from students to improve quality of leaning and teaching.

  • Awarded as "Top Communicator" in the intern programme, for my excellent communication and team skills.

  • I was the part of Academic Staff interviews thrice, which interviews new professors and our new deputy dean.

  • I was personally recommended to represent ARU on digital platform, but due to my other commitments I couldn’t take part.

  • Buidling a key network and good rapport with fellow students, key academics and university staff.

Aims for 2019/20 Academic Year:

  • I will improve communications between IT, Library, course reps, professors and students within the faculty, ensuring that larger problems for all our fellow students are resolved quickly and effectively.

  • I will spend more time volunteering to get involved with our reps and other representatives, to raise student’s `problems and views at faculty level, that are most important to students.

  • I will also hold a forum just for our students, between representative heads to hear their concerns or any solutions to improve our education and university life.

  • I will continue to help and lead rep’s events, from stalls to conferences and social events to the best of my ability.

  • I will also work closely with societies to support them and build links between them and the Reps system, to aid them dealing with any issues or feedbacks mentioned during society meetings.

  • I will also raise issue regarding graduation ceremony to be brought earlier as January starter students face difficulty as they get thier degree much later in October.

I want Business and Law Faculty to have the largest community, creating an environment where students are engaged at all levels and reps are recognized for all thier hard work. I promise to devote my time accordingly to achieve my goals and would appreciate your vote to make my ambitions a success. Building on what has already been an incredible year for reps and along with welcoming our new faculty- Law, will be difficult but I surely love a challenge. Let my experience work for you.
