Hello my fellow students, I trust you all are doing great and looking forward to the summer.

Some of you may know me personally or have seen me around campus. I am running for the position of International Representative at Anglia Ruskin University for 2019/20 academic school year.

I am a lovely, bubbly lively hardworking determined person who cares about the issues that affect you my students. Together, we can work to improve our collective experience as students.

Currently I am the rep for my class and also a student ambassador for the university and an ex sport activator. I am talented and innovative. These qualities I want to put at your disposal. I am running for this position because I want to put smiles on the faces of all international students and make them feel at ease here in the UK and at Anglia Ruskin University.

If I am voted in as your international student rep, there are numbers of things I will bring to your door step but one of the key thing is that I shall focus on your rights as students.

I am aware that settling in as an international student isn’t always easy. There are a lot of the challenges individuals face migrating from their home county or country of abode to integrate into a new country/society and finding new friends are one of the issues that international students finds difficult. That is why I want to step in and make it my priority to make your student life easy and enjoyable and above all to make your voice to be heard. I strongly believe that a lot more can be done to improve the support available for international students.

As a representative for the international students I will organise activities within and outside the university area, and to make your voice heard once in two weeks I will have a pop up section at the Lord Ashcroft or Marconi building where I will run a drop in session to help international students get informations and advise on lots of things which will include: setting up bank accounts, phone contracts, getting a place to live, budgeting and above all and adjusting to British culture and weather. If I am elected, do feel free to evaluate my work as your representative and suggest how I can be more effective. If you have any questions, please email me at gold.dominic@student.anglia.ac.uk.
