Michael Whitcombe

I come to ARU as an experienced technician within the ambulance service, for the past 10 years I’ve worked in many roles within the NHS and I’d like to bring this knowledge and experience to you and support you as your rep.

I bring to the table experience of being an Employment Relations Accredited representative and Health and Safety representative with extensive experience in supporting the people around me, including training and development.

I am passionate about improving your student lives, so we can get the best quality education as one team, acting as your voice, so you can stay focused on studies and your placements.

I know there is a lot to do to improve how you are heard and supported.

To make sure we are all working together, I would stand for equality of voices regardless of where you are on your education pathway and ensure that everyone is supported and represented.

I have a particular interest in supporting the needs of disabled students and empowering them through the correct support to meet their educational goals.

If elected I will support you, I will listen to you and I will push for positive change so that your time at ARU will be the very best it can be.

This is a journey for all of us and I’d like to move forward in partnership.

I can’t promise you free alcohol on campus or extra time off but I can work hard to get you the best training, working equipment and a fit for purpose education.

Thank you for your time and support.
