Darija Dragsic

Hello there!

My name is Darija and I am a first-year student here at ARUL, studying Health and Social Care.

I have decided to run for SU Vice President and make sure that the students’ voice is well heard and they are always understood.

I would like to point out that I am going to concentrate on raising awareness around students with disabilities and mental health issue, bearing in mind that there is a lot of stigma around it.

However I would like to make sure that we will get the various Student Network going on campus as they are crucial for anyone feeling comfortable living their student life here at ARUL.

Disabled Students Network
The network aims to represent the views of students at ARUL who define as disabled, including but not limited to students with physical disabilities, long-term illnesses, specific learning difficulties and mental health issues.

We are here to help raise awareness of the issues that students with disabilities face, as well as their daily contribution to the University and the society.

We are keen to ensure all students have a normal university life and make sure they achieve their maximum learning potential.

The Disabled Student’s Network together with the help of the welfare officer (I believe this is Naomi Weber, since I have been in touch with her too, in regards to the issues I am facing) is here to provide confidential information and guidance to disabled students.

We offer information in various areas such as:
  • ·       Exam arrangements
  • ·       Co-counselling sessions
  • ·       Help with DSA Applications

We strive towards organising meetings, events as well as run plethora of campaigns.

There would be meetings organised every semester, where you can get more involved and be a big part of this growing network.

You can always get in touch with the Disabled Student’s Network Leader for more information. We are more than happy to have you board. We understand that you have other commitments, and University life can be very busy and not all of you will be able to attend these meetings so we are open for any type of ideas that you might have as to how make the Disabled Students Network run as smooth as possible.

When contacting me please include the following:
  -Your name
 - Your Student ID Number
 - e-mail address
 - Telephone number
 - Your specific query
