Moxie Gibson for Vice President ARUL London

Hi, I’m Moxie Gibson, a first year International Business management student and I would love to be your VP of Education and Welfare.  You may not know me, however will endeavor to bring all the valuable experience already gained from my professional background that I will channel into this VP role.

Before you read my manifesto, I would like to tell you why I’m running for VP.  This role is all about YOU, your education and your welfare. I hope to represent students on matters relating directly to students' education like teaching quality, library provision and feedback.  However, I know that sometimes we all need advice, support and a listening ear.  For me balancing the need for academic success with happiness, health and support is extremely important and determines your university experience.  My aim is to ensure that every student has access to whatever support they need in order to make their time at ARUL London as wonderful as possible.

I aim to provide a direct link between you and the university’s support network. If there is something that you want to see improved that doesn’t appear on this manifesto, get in touch, as I want to represent YOU!

If elected as VP I intend to:

·        Be Approachable and Representative

 I believe these are the two most important aspects of the role. As we are a fairly small university, I will do my utmost to reach out to each one of you at every opportunity and ensure an open-door policy - I don’t want any student to feel intimidated by approaching the SU with any issues they may have.  I want to create an environment where you can discuss any personal problems you may have or issues that are not adequately provided for by this Union.

·        Petition for issues raised by student

 As part of my research, I received feedback on several issues raised by students on areas for improvement, I will be your voice in addressing those issues and feedback on progress or action agreed.

·        Support & promote Religious Festivals

 I want to work with all religious societies to ensure they feel represented and included in SU, making sure to accommodate all religious festivals.

·        Provide a confidence building workshop

I know that coming to university is a very big step and can be very intimidating for students so I would like to hold workshops to improve confidence and self-esteem in all areas of your lives.

I am passionate about ARUL London and would be honored and privileged to serve you in the year ahead.
