Anglia Cup 2008
The annual Anglia Cup is upon us once again. The date of Anglia Cup is Sunday 11th May 2008. As usual the Anglia Cup will be held at Howes Close (which is off Huntingdon Road) if you need directions click here
There will be an 11 - a side competition for the men's teams and a 6 - a side tournament for the women's teams. The men's entry fee is £30 and the women's entry fee is £15.
Tournament Information
Men's Competition
The men's competition will kick off at 11am and registration starts at 9.30am, all men's teams must be registered by 10am at the latest. the maximum squad size is 15, with only 3 substitutions per game allowed. There will be 3 groups of 5 teams with the top 2 teams in each group automatically progressing along with the 2 best 3rd placed teams. The rest of the teams will go into the plate.
The matches in the group stages will be 20 minutes long played straight through (no half time), the knockout stages will be 2 halves of 10 minutes and the final will be 2 halves of 15 minutes.
The points are as follows; 3 Points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
Women's Competition
The women's competition will kick off at 12pm and registration starts at 10am, all women's teams must be registered by 11am at the latest. The maximum squad size is 11, with only 3 substitutions per game allowed.
The compeition will be a league format, where at the end of all the games the top 2 teams will play each other in the final. All matches will be 10 minutes per half with a 1 minute break at half time.
The points are as follows; 3 Points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
There will be minibuses available to transport you up to Howes Close from the university, the last bus from University will be at 11am. There will be a no drinking policy in effect during the tournament, if any player is found to be under the influence of alcohol whilst playing, they will be banned from the remainder of the tournament.

The dealine for entry is 5pm on Monday 28th April 2008 and all forms must be completed and be handed into the SU Gym complete with payment otherwise it will not be accepted.
