I’ve never written a blog so not too sure what to put in here?

Anyway I’ll start by telling you what I’ve been up to on Monday we had a sabbs meeting which is where the sabbs meet and discuss what we have been up to, and share what the university is up to.

I’ve also been doing a lot of work on the Sports Ball which is happening on the 9th May, I’ve been doing things like booking bands, a magician and  buying a red carpet.
This year I thought that it would be better if there was more input form clubs and societies, this would hopefully make them feel like that had more control over the event and have more pride in the evening, so we have set up a small group that is meeting every two weeks.

I also helped with D-stress day with Student Support Services which took place on Tuesday, this was mainly giving out free bottles of water and leaflets.

I’ve also been to two hearings these are when students have appealed against a decision that the university has made and then asked for a full hearing. When I go to these I’m only there to make sure they are carried out fairly.

I’ve also attended  the Student Experience committee which is where we discus issues that are affecting students such as student retention and what we as a University can do to improve this.

I also had the last day of a badminton tournament which I had been organising for S.E.S.S.A. this had been run for the last three week. Which was enjoyable to organize but I’m glad that its over.

As for this week I’m going to be doing some more work on the sports ball, as well as another 3 hearings. We also have a GIAG golf that’s starting this week so I’ll be taking some students down to the local Pitch and Putt.

If you have any questions about what I’m up to you can always come and talk to me or send me on email d.neison@angliastudent.com
