The Students' Union exists to support your learning and provide a diverse and exciting university experience. It is separate from the university and as such acts as your representative, voicing your views and defending student welfare, as well as helping to to have a brilliant time! If you want to find out more, take a look at our list of SU aims and objectives.
The Student Union is run primarily by students. Every year, six students are elected to become Sabbatical Officers who then work full time to assist and improve the running of the Union. They are joined by several elected part time, voluntary officers from the student body who assist the Sabs and are well placed to represent the views of fellow students. Together, the Sabs and part time officers make up the Executive Committee, who meet regularly to discuss all issues surrounding the Students' Union. Find out more about the Executive Committee here.
The Students' Union also employs many full time and part time staff, some of whom directly assist the Sabs and part time officers, and some who manage or run the various services offered by the Union. A full list of everyone employed by the Union can be seen here.
