Linkline is a listening support and information service, run by students for students, every night of Cambridge University full term. We are based in Cambridge and are available to students at Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Universities
You can call Linkline between 7pm and 7am to talk about anything.
Confidential, Anonymous,
Non-directive and Non-judgmental
We won’t tell you what to do or give advice, but we will provide you with the time and space to talk things through in confidence. We won’t ask your name, and our phone lines have had the 1471 function disabled, so you will be afforded as much anonymity as you want.
You know your situation best. We won’t tell you what to do, but we will talk through your options with you, so that you can make your own decision and, if applicable, find a solution based on your understanding of the situation, not someone else’s interpretation. No matter what may have happened, or what you want to talk about, we will not judge any caller. We are an independent body with no religious or political affiliation, and no outside influences of any sort.
Volunteering with Linkline
Linkline recruits and trains volunteers once a year, during October.
If you are interested and want to find out more about volunteering or if you have any outstanding questions, we would love to hear from you, so do email us (please don't call the listening service).
All our volunteers undergo a comprehensive training process, so it doesn't matter if you haven't done anything like this before. If you think you might be able to devote some time to Linkline and are willing to learn, we can teach you!
