The Advice Service

Whatever your background, becoming a student is an exciting time, but it can also throw new problems into the air for you to juggle with. All kinds of challenges come creeping in: finding somewhere to live, paying rent and bills, caring for your health, and for some, finding childcare, finding employment and all manner of extra considerations. And once you're settled and comfortable with keeping those balls in the air, in come the delights of assessments and exams...

University can be a stressful time. That's why we have the Advice Service.

The Advice Service offers free, impartial, confidential advice on all of the tribulations above, and more besides. And if they can't help you, they'll know who can. If you have any kind of problem, academic, financial, legal or personal, our Advisors are here to lend a friendly ear and help you work out your options. They have a Community Legal Services Quality Mark - so they really know their stuff.

So, how can you use the Advice Service?

Drop by the Advice Service any time during the day, and if the Advisors aren't busy, they'll see you right away. The Advice Service office is also packed with leaflets that can give you the bedrock of information around most queries. You can make appointments for a chat in the Advice Service, or by email or phone. Queries can also be made by phone and email. The service is dedicated to dealing with questions as promptly as possible, regardless of how you get in touch.
