Mature Students Officer
Cambridge/Chelmsford
This position is subject to annual review and ratification at Union Council.
All part-time, elected Executive Officers shall:
- work to further the union's objects and purposes as defined in the union constitution
- help with the successful running of relevant campaigns and events including induction activities, and as directed by the Site Executive Committee
- be an active member of the Site Executive Committee
- carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the union's Health and Safety Policy
- carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the union's Equal Opportunities Policy
- carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the union's Staff/Student Protocol
- consider the development of the Union's facilities and services as an integral part of their role
- undertake other duties relevant to their positions as directed by the Executive Committee
In addition to the general duties outlined above, these part-time officers will have additional responsibilities outlined below:
- Have commenced their time of study after their 21st birthday
- Be responsible for organising a Mature Students' Forum and encouraging Mature Students to participate within it.
- Provide a perspective on the issues, which affect mature students to the Executive Committee, and ensure that this is recognised in all areas of the Union's work.
- Establish a number of projects relating to mature students' education, welfare and social needs at the beginning of the year, as agreed by the executive committee.
- Attend all training events relevant to the post.
