Hi everyone,
Hope you are all getting excited about freshers’ week, only 11 days to go! I’ve just got back from a week’s holiday and feel nice and refreshed and ready for the hard work that is ahead of me. My inbox was bursting at the seams this morning when I got back and I have a very long to do list to complete before students start arriving next Monday but I like a challenge! Before I went on holiday I met with the international office to plan welcome events and induction talks for the arriving international students, these will be taking place throughout next week. I also attended another house hunting event in association with the accommodation service which helps new students find non-university managed accommodation ready for when they start. Also before I went away all of the Sabbs and staff met to discuss SUEI (Students’ Union Evaluation Initiative) and how we hope to improve ourselves this year and the ways in which we think we can do this and measure it. SUEI is a major focus for us in the Students’ Union over the next couple of years and is a process of self-evaluation which really allows us to analyse ourselves and how successful we are in representing and supporting you. As well as the above I am still working on lots of other ongoing projects including Freshers preparations for Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough and Fulbourn, Give It A Go sessions, Welfare ‘HELP’ Week, sports and society training and much, much more. As ever if you want to get in touch to ask about anything I have mentioned in my blog please contact me. Hope you are all making the most of the last of the summer? I’m looking forward to meeting you soon.
