Ok, so the last moth or so has been really manic and I feel like I’ve got lots done, but haven’t actually achieved anything yet. It’s been great working with the new Sabbs. They’ve all got some fantastic ideas for next year and I’m really looking forward to spending the year with them.
This week for me has been thinking about campaigns for the year. We want our union to be more forward thinking with campaigns and therefore will actually achieve some high profile and successful campaigns for next year. We’ve got some great stuff planned including H.E.L.P Week (Welfare and Education) and a Summer Holiday Style National Student Survey Campaign. And if that’s not enough, we will be rolling out a massive campaign during Fresher’s, around this awful situation with Bursaries and Scholarships.
For those of you aren’t aware, The university is planning to cut the amount of bursary students receive from £2000 to £1500 and that money would not go into your bank account, but crediting it to a card which you can use in our new university bookshop, on university accommodation and university childcare only.
