Our Society is teaming up with a volunteering service in Cambridge, the ACT Project: if you are an international student and already a citizen why don't you join our following event.
'Active Citizens Together’
Are you a European citizen living in the Cambridge area? Would you like to meet and discuss with others how to be more involved in local activities?
Join us for an ‘Active Citizens’ workshop at The Meadows Community Centre, 1, St Catharines Road, Cambridge, CB4 3XJ on: Tuesday 3rd May 2016 from 10.00am-12.00 noon hosted by the project team from the Region’s Migration Partnership.
We will be thinking about, and discussing in small groups:
- Voting in elections
- Volunteering
- Ways to be more involved in our neighbourhoods & communities
We would like to:
- Hear your experiences
- Help you to learn more about being an active citizen
- Tell you about our active citizen mentors, and offer you a buddy/mentor to help you achieve your goals, or do something new to improve the area
- Support you in being more involved in life in the UK
There is no charge to attend, and there will be light refreshments. You will receive a certificate of attendance from the East of England Local Government Association, and a small thank you gift at the end of the workshop.
Places are limited so please do book your place as soon as possible.
