The Clubs & Societies Awards Ball is an event for clubs & societies at the Students’ Union to show their appreciation to their members and for us to award committee members who have gone above and beyond for their club or society and in some cases the union. It really is a special event, focused solely on celebrating success.
This year Chelmsford’s Awards Ball was held at the Premier Suite inside the Essex County Cricket Club on Friday 9th May 2014. It was a black tie event, where members of clubs and societies had a 3 course meal with the picturesque view of the cricket pitch basked in early evening sunshine.
The start of the evening saw clubs and societies present their own awards to their members to celebrate their successes. Awards were given out by football, netball, cricket and SAS. Following on from that were the main awards that were voted on by clubs and societies. The main award winners were:
Fresher of the Year – Sarah Kiernan (Netball)
Captain of the Year – Adam Crabb (Football)
Team of the Year – Football
Organised Team of the Year – Cheerleading
Society of the Year – SAS
Super Star Award – Mohammed Al – Amin (SAS)
Ken Pearce Award – Leanne Tigg (Cricket & Netball)
The Students’ Union would like to say congratulations to every winner of an award and also, thank you to everyone’s hard work over the year as clubs and societies couldn’t run without students hard work.
